Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head in a transfer battle for a highly-rated West Ham United attacker, according to new reports.

The North London rivals are both eager to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2025/26 season and have identified the same target to bolster their attacking options.

This summer marks a pivotal period for both clubs. Tottenham have recently appointed Thomas Frank as their new head coach, following the departure of Ange Postecoglou, while Arsenal continue their search for a first major trophy since 2020 after finishing second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.

While Arsenal have yet to officially announce any signings, they are reportedly close to completing deals for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Despite being one of only three Premier League clubs without a confirmed summer addition, the Gunners remain active in the market, particularly in their pursuit of a new striker—Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško remain high on their shortlist.

Tottenham, in contrast, have already confirmed several arrivals. They’ve finalised the permanent signing of Mathys Tel and secured deals for Kevin Danso and promising young defender Luka Vuskovic.

With confirmed talks underway, the competition between Arsenal and Spurs for the West Ham star adds another layer of intensity to the transfer window. Both clubs will be keen to land the player as they aim to challenge for silverware in the upcoming season.
