Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed a fresh opportunity to sign a high-profile attacking target this summer, with crucial talks expected to determine whether a deal is possible.

Both London clubs are actively searching for winger reinforcements ahead of the new season. Arsenal have been strongly linked with Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, while the Blues are reportedly keeping tabs on Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri, hinting at a potential swap or related negotiations between the two sides.

In addition, Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has emerged as a mutual target for both clubs. The Brazilian’s future remains uncertain after falling out of favour under new manager Xabi Alonso. Despite his contract with Madrid, Rodrygo recently hinted at an openness to change, stating in an interview with DAZN: “Yes, well, anything can happen. I have a contract here, but the years I’ve been here have been a pleasure.” When pressed further, he added: “No, no, don’t worry. As I said, I always want to be at this club, but let’s see.”

Rodrygo’s situation has further intensified after Alonso once again omitted him from Real Madrid’s lineup, fuelling speculation over a possible departure.

Talks are reportedly set for next week, which could clarify whether Rodrygo will be available for transfer. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are closely monitoring developments, hopeful that they can secure a deal should Madrid signal a willingness to negotiate.
