Agent of Italian midfielder says he would remain at Stamford Bridge next summer

Italian footballer and Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho will remain at the West London club next summer, this is according to his agent Joao Santos.

Recall that Santos, in a previous statement, had claimed that Jorginho could be on the move this summer following his performance for Italy in the Euro 2020.

The agent revealed that there were already deals coming in for the Blues midfielder from other clubs who are interested in signing him.

However, in the latest statement, the former Hellas Verona youngster’s agent has stated that the Italy international will remain at Stamford Bridge this summer.

“He’s staying at Chelsea after the Euros. [Thomas] Tuchel trusts Jorginho, and he’ll be part of Chelsea team next season,” Santos told TuttoMercatoWeb.

Popular transfer expert and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, in a statement, however, claimed that the Uefa Champions League winner are keen to open contract talks with Jorginho, as the midfielder’s current deal is due to expire in June 2023.

Recall that 29-year-old Jorginho was a key player for Chelsea during the 2020-21 season, scoring eight times in 43 appearances in all competitions.

He has also put up an impressive appearance in the Euro 2020 for Italy. Hopefully, his performance will continue next season.
