Why Nketiah left Arsenal in the summer transfer window
Eddie Nketiah in a recent statement has shared details behind his moved away from Arsenal in the recent summer transfer window.
The former Gunners man explained that he left his boyhood club Arsenal because he needed to get more minutes.
Recall that the forward arrived at Emirates Stadium in 2015, before breaking into the Gunners’ first team through the youth ranks within two years, making his debut in the Gunners’ Europa League match with BATE Borisov.
Manager Mikel Arteta has used him more as a bench option rather than a starter, with 17 of his 27 Premier League appearances in 2023/24 coming as a substitute.
With the struggle for game time Nketiah left the North London club during the summer, to sign fof west London outfit Crystal Palace for a reported £30m.
Speaking to theIndependent about his decision to move in the transfer window, Nketiah admitted that it was the need for more game time that led to him leaving Arsenal.
Nketiah said he has a real belief in himself as a player, and he thinks he just needed to move to another club where he felt he would have opportunities to be on the pitch and improve on himself.
