UCL: Atalanta warned about this Arsenal player
Former Arsenal star Sead Kolasinac who now plays for Italian club Atalanta has warned his teammates ahead of their faceoff against his former club in the UEFA Champions League tonight.
While Kolasinac is looking forward to facing his former club, he has named Bukayo Saka as a key player who could pose a great threat to Atalanta’s chances.
Atalanta are preparing for their first appearance in the European top-tier competition since the 2021/22 season.
The Italian club start their campaign with a challenging home match against Premie League side Arsenal, who are considered one of the tournament favourites this season.
Kolasinac, who signed for Atalanta from Marseille in July 2023, played a key role in the club’s qualification for the Champions League, helping them secure a fourth-place finish in Serie A last season.
The 30-year-old Bosnian defender also played a part in Atalanta’s Europa League win, during which the club ended German side Bayer Leverkusen’s impressive 51-game unbeaten streak.
Speaking in a pre-match statement, Kolasinac expressed excitement to see his old teammates again and make his Champions League debut.
He stressed that it is difficult to play against English teams as they are physically strong.
Kolasinac, however, added that Atalanta have prepared well and will implement their plan against the Gunners.
