As Arsenal work on players they could sign this January transfer window, their former star Emmanuel Petit has advised them on areas they should consider bolstering.

Petit in a recent statement urged his old club to sign a striker, left-winger and an attacking midfielder this January window.

The former footballer expressed how very frustrated he was with forward Gabriel Martinelli’s performances for the North London side this season.

Arsenal have found it to maintain a top form as they struggle to show the consistency that saw them to rival Manchester City for the Premier League title in the last two seasons.

This season have been difficult for the Mikel Arteta’s side as they dropped points in nine of their 20 league games.

As of now, they have six points behind Premier League toppers Liverpool, who have a game in hand and are considered favourites to win the EPL title this season.

Petit in a statement via DisCasino said the Gunners doesn’t just need a striker, but they need to sign at least three or four more players, which they failed to do in the summer.

“January transfer market is tough, though. It will be very hard to find good opportunities to sign good players for a reasonable price,” he said.

He also suggested that Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford would be an interesting signing for Arsenal.
