North London club Arsenal led by Mikel Arteta seems to be gaining back their form this season as they currently seat the fourth spot on the league table.

Reacting to the improvement in the Gunners squad, the club’s former football star Paul Merson has applauded some of the players in the Arteta led squad.

Merson, in his statement, described attacking midfielder Gabriel Martinelli as a special talent in the North London club.

Merson stressed that the Brazilian’s form of late has positively impacted Arsenal.

After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was removed from the team, Martinelli got an opportunity to step in, and he has been impressive in the role.

This comes as the Brazil star scored twice in the Gunners’ the 4-1 win over Leeds United over the weekend.

The 20-year-old will hope to lead the line in their Carabao quarter-final clash with Sunderland tonight.

“Martinelli is a very special talent. I like him, but the question is: how long is he going to be fit for? If he can maintain his fitness, Arsenal have got a new signing – a £50m player,” he told Sky Sports.

“On top of that there’s Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard is starting to look like the decent player he was meant to be when he arrived at Arsenal, Thomas Partey is starting to play now.”
