Former Arsenal star, Paul Merson has sent a message to the club’s defenders ahead of their weekend game against Man City in the Premier League.

Saliba who directed his message at defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes warned them to wary of Man City star Erling Haaland.

Merson urged Saliba and Gabriel not to fall asleep when marking Haaland or else the Norwegian will score.

Speaking via Sky Sports, Merson said Gabriel and Saliba will want to play against Haaland, someone who is going to go right up against them and wants a battle.

“They fall asleep then Haaland scores and that is the end of the game” he said.

So far this season, Haaland is the leading top scorer in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old forward has scored nine goals for Pep Guardiola’s side and could find the back of the net when they play against Arsenal.

Like Man City, Arsenal will hope to bag three points as the race to win the title returned this season.

Recall that the Gunners have lost two close chances of winning the Premier League which they conceded to Man City.

Hopefully they will split points with the Citizens if they don’t win.
