Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, in a recent statement expressed hope that his former star Raheem Sterling does not have a good game for Arsenal on Sunday.

The North London club will make a trip to Etihad Stadium to face Man City who are yet to drop a point in any Premier League fixture this season in a top-of-the-table clash.

Recall that Sterling signed for Arsenal on a season-long loan deal on deadline day. He is now in line to face his former club this weekend.

Guardiola in his statement said for all the players who behaved unbelievably, at this Man City, who helped them to be who they are and where they are.

“We could not have done the first years of my tenure in our time here without Raheem,” Guardiola disclosed.

The Citizens boss said he would prefer he didn’t play well on Sunday, but still went ahead to wish him all the best.

Meanwhile, Guardiola expressed concern for Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard who has been tipped to miss the faceoff due to injuries he sustained during international duties for his home country Norway.

Man City will hope to maintain their top form this weekend and will be looking to win three points against the Gunners.
