Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in a recent pre-match statement expressed concerns for Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.

Guardiola said he felt sorry for the midfielder, who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

The Norway star is unlikely to be available during Arsenal’s away Premier League clash with Man City on Sunday.

Guardiola while peaking about Odegaard on Friday described the 25-year-old as an exceptional player.

The Citizens boss said he felt for the Norwegian. He added that he always like to play against the biggest and toughest squad.

Guardiola stressed that Odegaard is known to be an important and exceptional player in Arsenal squad led by manager Mikel Arteta.

Meanwhile, Man City on the other hand are also likely to be without their midfielder Kevin DeBruyne when they play Arsenal this weekend.

Arsenal and Man City will head into the match after their goalless outings in the UEFA Champions League against Atalanta and Inter Milan, respectively.

The Gunners will be hoping to ensure Man City drop a point as the Citizens are once again favourites to win the title again this season.

Arsenal are second favourite again with their impressive form which may soon be marred by their numerous injuries.
