Done Deal: Manchester United legend shades Arsenal’s decision to sell youngster
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has slammed Arsenal’s decision to sell Joe Willock to fellow Premier League side, Newcastle United.
Newcastle United have been willing to sign Willock ever since the transfer window opened and a deal of £20m have reportedly been agreed by both sides.
Willock performed well during his six months loan spell at Newcastle United last season and he is set to be unveiled as their player in the next few days.
However, Ferdinand while sharing his thoughts on the latest development revealed that he
does not understand why Arsenal are selling really talented Willock.
The former England international also revealed his concerns for the north London club, claiming they are in ‘no man’s land’ and are no longer a ‘threat’.
Ferdinand told the FIVE YouTube channel that he does not know how Arsenal have let Joe Willock go because he scores goals from midfield.
He noted that Newcastle have done unbelievable well to get him adding that the youngster is a really good talent.
Ferdinand added that Arsenal are not a threat to anybody.
Arsenal failed to qualify for any European competition last season as they finished eighth in the Premier League last season and kick-start their 2021-22 campaign on Friday night against Brentford.
