Arteta speaks on Partey’s absence vs Man Utd
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta finally opened up on why the club’s midfielder Thomas Partey was absent from his matchday squad to face Manchester United.
In his pre-match statement, Arteta confirmed the Ghana midfielder “felt something in training”.
There was no time frame given as to when Partey would return, as more tests will be carried out,
“We need a few more tests – he felt something in training,” Arteta said.
The North London club added on its Twitter account that Partey had picked up a groin problem.
In his absence, Arteta made three changes to his starting XI for the game.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Magalhaes and Eddie Nketiah all start for the Gunners.
The Gunners were able to pull a win even with Partey’s absence.
They defeated Man Utd with a 3-1 scoreline to win all three points against the Red Devils.
