Arteta reacts to Cazorla’s link to Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to Santi Cazorla’s return to Emirate stadium as part of the coaching crew.

Recall that Arteta and Cazorla were both players at Arsenal, where they spent five seasons together.

The two Spanish stars helped the Gunners win two FA Cup trophies.

While Arteta has ventured into football management, Cazorla is with Al Sadd in Qatar and recently led them to their second successive league title.

However, there are claims that the Spanish midfielder would return to Arsenal once he retires from his football career.

But Arteta said on Thursday, “I haven’t discussed anything like that with Santi.

“Of course, if you ask anyone in this football club or any supporter about Santi they’ll probably have a smile on their face.

“I don’t know, he’s still playing, I don’t know what he wants to do but I’m sure it’ll be related to football because I know him well.

“All I can say is I spoke with him on my birthday [March 26] but we didn’t discuss that at all.”
