Arteta reacts as Arsenal defeat Barcelona 5-3
Arsenal put up an unexpected performance when they defeat Spanish giants Barcelona by a 5-3 scoreline to end their tour in the US on Wednesday.
Thanks to a brace from Leandro Trossard and further strikes from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Fabio Vieira, the Gunners were able to emerge winners against the Catalans.
In a post-match statement, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who was happy with his side’s win against Barcelona, spoke on physical the match was.
Arteta said: “It got really competitive for a friendly match – after the first tackle, after the first goal. Obviously, in front of 70,000 fans it helps to create an atmosphere. They are elite players, and all want to win, and at the end it got a bit too much at times for a friendly to be fair. But I think we showed all the people that came to watch the game that it was really good.”
