Arsenal
Arsenal to sign this Brazilian midfielder
Arsenal continue their bids for new players this summer transfer window as recent report revealed they are close to welcoming a new midfielder at Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have submitted a bid of €25 million including bonuses to sign Brazil star Gabriel Carvalho, according to Football Transfers.
Arsenal’s transfer chief, Edu, who is also a Brazilian and the club’s expert in the South American market, is in charge of the deal for Carvalho.
As of now, Carvalho plays for SC Internacional and his contract with the club will end in 2028.
The youngster gained attention after he made his professional debut for Internacional in June.
Carvalho is considered the youngest player for the Brazilian club in the 21st century, aged 16 years, nine months, and 30 days, breaking the record previously held by former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato.
Should the deal for Carvalho works out, the North London are likely to keep him in his current club as he wouldn’t be able to travel to England yet.
Meanwhile, the North London club will continue their pre-season games today when they face German side Bayer Leverkuse.
The Gunners will then face Lyon on Sunday in Emirates Cup final.
