Arsenal have suffered a major injury blow in their defence as a recent update revealed defender Ben White has been ruled out of action for “a few months.”

This was made public by manager Mikel Arteta, who revealed White will need time to recover from his injury.

Recall that the 27-year-old full-back started in the Gunners’ 1-1 draw at Chelsea, completing 90 minutes in his seventh league start of the season before the international break.

During the two-week hiatus, White underwent a “minor surgical procedure” on a knee issue, which Arteta confirmed will keep him out for a while.

Arteta in a conference ahead of the Gunners march against Nottingham Forest said the club had to make a decision on White as it hasn’t been improving in the last few weeks.

“We know Ben is going to push every boundary, but it got to a point where we had to protect the player,” he said.

White’s absence will be a blow for the North London club as he has been a near ever-present in their backline since his arrival in 2021, missing only seven Premier League games in his first three seasons and featuring in nine of Arsenal’s 11 so far this season.
