Arsenal put in a thrilling performance to defeat Leicester City on Sunday afternoon and some senior players played a huge impact in the victory.

Goals from David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe ensured that Arsenal came from behind to win the match and Brazilian midfielder Willian put in a superb individual performance.

Arteta whose team produced an impressive comeback in a 3-2 home defeat of Benfica in the Europa League have now tasked the senior players to produce more thrilling performance.

Arteta told BT Sport that he is really proud of the team and the character that they showed.

Though he admitted that the team had a disappointing start again as they conceded an early goal but the team looked composed and overall he believes they deserved to win.

Arteta noted that the senior players are the ones who have to drive the boat forward and the young players can add something, but it can’t be the other way around.

He added that the senior players have to take that leadership and be accountable when they are in the team.
