Arsenal Eye Premier League Winger but Face Price Hurdle

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for a Premier League winger as part of their plans to strengthen the squad this summer.

With attacking reinforcements a top priority, the club is eyeing a player who registered 16 goal contributions last season—but concerns over the asking price could complicate any potential deal.

Sporting director Andrea Berta is leading Arsenal’s summer recruitment efforts, working closely with Mikel Arteta to reshape the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The Gunners are expected to complete the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for around £53 million, which would mark their first major addition of the window.

Following that, the focus will shift to securing a back-up goalkeeper and strengthening the front line. Arsenal are actively searching for both a striker and a top-level winger—someone capable of challenging current starters Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

While Leandro Trossard offers valuable depth, he is not viewed as a consistent starter for a title-contending side. Last season, Martinelli’s dip in form highlighted the need for greater competition on the flanks. The target in question has proven Premier League experience and would bring added pace and creativity to Arsenal’s wide options.

However, the player’s current club are demanding a significant fee, which could pose a challenge to completing the deal. Arsenal must now weigh the player’s value against other attacking targets as they look to build a squad capable of competing for major honours.
