Arsenal could be handed a timely opportunity to address one of Mikel Arteta’s key challenges, with reports suggesting a contract dispute at Juventus has put one of Europe’s brightest young talents on the radar.

According to Italian sources, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation involving Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. The 20-year-old is said to be locked in a “tug-of-war” with the Serie A club over a new contract, with negotiations stalling due to his wage demands. Yildiz is reportedly seeking a salary in excess of £5 million per year, a figure Juventus are currently unwilling to meet.

The uncertainty has alerted Premier League interest, with north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham both believed to be weighing up potential moves. Tottenham, who sit in 14th place and are expected to be active in January after spending around £180 million in the summer, may look to inject creativity and quality into their squad. Arsenal, by contrast, are likely to approach the window more cautiously after investing over £250 million in the previous transfer period.

Arteta has made it clear that Arsenal will only move for a player if the opportunity is exceptional. The club is also considering loan options for young midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, while potential departures could include Gabriel Jesus and Ben White if suitable offers arrive.

Yildiz’s profile — young, technically gifted and capable of operating across the forward line — fits Arsenal’s long-term vision and could help solve issues in attack and squad depth. If Juventus fail to resolve the contract impasse, Arsenal may find themselves well placed to act decisively should the right conditions emerge in January.
