Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has thrown his weight behind his players as he stated that they remain ever willing to play.

Ten Hag’s comment comes after the Red Devils former star Wayne Rooney alleged that some members of the Man Utd squad were using injuries as excuses.

The former England star while speaking on Super Sunday claimed he is “100 per cent” convinced that some of Man United’s injured players are fit enough to play.

Recall that the Red Devils had 10 players on the sidelines during their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford to Arsenal, which left them rooted to eighth place on the league table.

Speaking ahead of their next game against Newcastle United, Ten Hag defended his players with their display at Carrington, adding that they are desperate to play.

The Dutchman during an injury update revealed the club’s captain Bruno Fernandes did a fitness test on Sunday to play while Marcus Rashford did everything he could do to get a chance to play.

Speaking of how desperate the Red Devils players are to play, Ten Hag said Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane were training to make themselves available for the final.
