Man Utd star reacts as De Gea announces departure
Manchester United midfielder and Portugal international Bruno Fernandes has commented on the club’s goalkeeper David De Gea’s departure from the club as a free agent.
This comes as De Gea on Saturday confirmed his exit from Old Trafford in a brief post via his social media timeline.
De Gea, who had spent 12 years at Man Utd left this summer after the Red Devils gave him a new deal which came with lower wages.
Announcing his exit, an extract from De Gea’s post read: “I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters.”
“Now it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings,” he said in part.
In a reaction to the goalkeeper’s departure, Fernandes, in a statement via his Instagram page bemoaned the shabby end to De Gea’s career.
The midfielder believe De Gea deserved to say goodbye to the fans properly.
“You deserved to say goodbye to the stadium with all the fans cheering you for all the beautiful memories,”
