Manager Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United even though expected has remained a topic in the football world.

Shortly after they announced Ten Hag’s sack, the Red Devils appointed Rudd Van Nistelrooy as his replacement.

However, there have been doubts about Nistelrooy and if he would be able to perform at Old Trafford.

One of the those who have raised concerns of former Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel, who reacted to the club’s decision to appoint Nistelrooy as their interim manager.

Schmeichel, while speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty show, admitted he wasn’t sure about his former team-mate’s abilities as a coach.

The former goalie said he does non know how good a manager Nistelrooy is. He, however, added that he was a very good player.

“And if he is able to replicate some of his playing form as a manager, he has a good chance of staying on,” Schmeichel said.

The former goalkeeper also stressed that The Hag didn’t get enough support at Old Trafford.

Before Ten Hag’s sack, Man Utd were seated outside the top ten on the league table as the chances o returning to the top six looked hopeless.
