Manchester United have parted ways with their academy product Mason Greenwood permanently.

The Red Devils recently confirmed that Greenwood has joined Marseille on a permanent basis, bringing an end to his bond to the club officially.

Recall that 22-year-old was sent out on loan to Getafe during the 2023-24 campaigs.

During his time at Getafe, Greenwood scored 10 goals and created six assists in 36 appearances for the La Liga side in all competitions.

Getafe were interested in retaining him, but the Red Devils were only interested in a permanent deal this summer, which was how Marseille stepped and ended up signing him.

While his transfer to the Ligue 1 outfit has now been confirmed, popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that Marseille agreed to pay a fixed fee of €26m (£21.9m) for the forward, with an additional €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons.

The Red Devils also reportedly included a 50% sell-on clause in the agreement.

Greenwood will be at Marseille until June 2029 and is expected to be a regular in their squad.

Aside from Marseille and Getafe, top clubs like Lazio, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid had been also interested in Greenwood.

Hopefully he would impress at Marseille the same he shined at Getafe last season.
