Manchester United have agreed to sell Mason Greenwood to Marseille, according to the recent reports.

This was made public by popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday night.

Recall that Greenwood spent last season playing on loan at Getafe, where he scored eight goals and created six assists in La Liga.

He was impressive at Getafe and was named the club’s player of the season.

However, his top form didn’t change the Red Devils decision to keep him at Old Trafford despite their struggles under manager Erik ten Hag last season as they managed to win the FA Cup against their neighbours Man City.

On his return to the Carrington training centre after his loan deal with Getafe ended, the 22-year-old was told he was up for sale.

Romano disclosed that Greenwood will now pen a deal until June 2029 with Marseille.

The popular transfer expect in a tweet via his X account disclosed that the contract offered by Olympique Marseille to Mason Greenwood is valid until June 2029.

He added that the Red Devils will have close sell-on clause close to 50% of the future sale from June 2025 to June 2029.

According to Romano, it is a done deal between the two clubs. He, however, added that salary details, including bonuses being discussed.
