Cavani determine to play for Barca despite demotion from UCL to UEL
With a few days to the commencement of the January transfer window, Manchester United striker and Uruguay international Edinson Cavani is eager to leave Ralf Rangnick’s side and join Barcelona despite them dropping out of the UEFA Champions League, Mundo Deportivo reports.
It is no longer news that the Catalan giants were eliminated from the Uefa Champions League after losing 3-0 to Bayern Munich last Wednesday.
The result has seen Barca being demoted to the UEFA Europa League; however, this has not deterred Cavani from moving to Camp Nou next year.
The report revealed that Cavani is keen on playing for the Catalan club irrespective of what competition they are playing in.
Cavani believes he wouldn’t get enough playing chances under new interim coach Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford and wants to leave the club by January.
Barca, on the other hand, will be willing to welcome a player with Cavani’s quality under their new coach Xavi as they might find it hard to convince players to join them since they are no longer playing in the UCL for this season.
