Victor Osimhen’s rumoured transfer to Chelsea has remained a heated topic this summer amid claims that the Blues were contemplating a loan transfer which would include a swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku move to Napoli.

However, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has a different stand about the deal.

According to Nicol, a loan move to Chelsea by Osimhen this summer transfer window does not make sense in any way.

Recall that David Ornstein reported that the Blues and Napoli are in talks regarding Osimhen’s loan transfer.

Osimhen’s camp, through his agent, Roberto Calenda, has since been denied the story.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated that Osimhen will only accept a loan transfer to Chelsea if it include a mandatory buy out clause.

Nicol in a statement via ESPN said he couldn’t get his head around the whole deal.

“I mean do you know football is like things change very quickly. You know you go there on loan and all of a sudden you either get injured or you have a bad time and your whole world is turned upside down,” Nicol said.

He added that he was shocked when he heard that a loan transfer was being considered.

While Nicol stressed that the deal could make sense for both clubs if the money is right, but from his point of view he doesn’t think he would be keen to go on loan if he were Osimhen.
