Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reacted to his side’s defeat to Brentford on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge.

According to Lampard, the Blues lost as a result of a lack of belief.

As of now, Lampard is yet to win a single match in all competitions since his arrival at Chelsea to replace Graham Potter until the end of the season.

Chelsea suffered their fifth consecutive defeat following an own goal from their defender Cesar Azpilicueta and a deflected finish from Bryan Mbeumo.

Lampard while speaking in a post-match via BT Sport, said: “A difficult one. I feel for the players a bit. In terms of the game we controlled it possession wise.

“Brentford are good at what they do.

“The details of the game are pretty clear, we are lacking the belief at the top end of the pitch today, because we were there a lot. So you lose the game.”
