Why Arsenal should sign Atletico Bilbao star

Ahead of the January transfer window, Arsenal have been urged to make a new signing, with their former midfielder, Emmanuel Petit urging the club to do all they can to sign Athletic Bilbao winger, Nico Williams.

Petit in a recent statement described the Spain star as an incredible player, stressing Williams would want the Gunners to sign him.

Recall that several top clubs in Europe A attempted to sign Nico Williams in the 2024 summer transfer window but it didn’t work out.

The likes of Spanish side Barcelona, EPL duo Chelsea, Arsenal, and German club Bayern Munich were among the target clubs

But the 22-year-old winger ended up staying at Atletico Bilbao after no deal was reached.

The Catalans are now said to have reignited their interest in the Spanish winger and have also set aside the No. 10 jersey for him if he joins them next summer.

Petit while speaking on Prime Casino is hoping that Arsenal can sign Williams, stating that it would be a dream signing for manager Mikel Arteta.

According to the former Arsenal star, Williams is an amazing player, who will be wanted by so many clubs but he hopes the North London club will be the one to sign him.
