Former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Petit, has advised West Ham United star Declan Rice to turn down any move to Chelsea and join London rivals Arsenal instead amid the ongoing January transfer window.

According to Petit, the North London side would be a perfect option for Rice ahead of Chelsea.

Rice, who was once a Chelsea player was released by the club during the developmental years of his career at Stamford Bridge.

Following his impressive form at West Hammers, the England international has regularly been linked with a return to his boyhood club Chelsea in recent transfer windows.

However, Petit, who played for both Chelsea and Arsenal during his football career, believes it would be better for Rice to join Mikel Arteta’s side because of their style of play this season.

“I know that Chelsea wants him, but if I were Declan Rice, I would not go to Chelsea, I would go to Arsenal. The two clubs are going in different directions and the way Arsenal is playing,” he told Compare.Bet.

“He would be the perfect option for Arsenal.”
