Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has reportedly decided on his future at the blues after being linked with a new deal.

Thiago Silva was one of Frank Lampard’s signings during his time at Chelsea as the Brazilian defender was persuaded to join Chelsea after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired.

The 36-year-old has been able to form a good partnership with all Chelsea’s centre-backs and the blues top hierarchy are happy with him.

With Thiago Silva’s one-year contract he signed last August set to expire at the end of the season, the Brazilian has the option to extend the deal for another 12 months.

A new report from The Telegraph has now stated that the former Paris Saint-Germain defender is ready to activate that option and stay at Chelsea form at least another season.

The reports claimed his influence on the youths of the club cannot be overlooked and so he will be willing to continue the adventure despite stating how he wishes to retire in Brazil.

Thiago Silva is currently injured and he’s a do not for the blues next game.

Having a player like Silva at Stamford Bridge for another year is a plus for the Blues as it will help them be able to groom one of their youngsters to takeover from him when he finally leaves or retire.
