Tuchel fires at Referee for checking VAR after Hudson-Odoi’s handball

One of the heated topics from the game at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Man Utd in the premier league was the handball by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The action by the Blues player has sparked different reactions as some opined that a penalty should have been awarded to Man Utd, others were of the opinion that it was not worth a penalty.

Well, Chelsea new manager, Thomas Tuchel seems to be angry with the fact that the referee Stuart Allwell went ahead to check the VAR for a handball that was not worth a penalty.

Hudson-Odoi during the game had touched the ball with his hand in the penalty area, while fighting with Mason Greenwood for possession in the first half.

Speaking to the press after the game, Chelsea manager stated that the referee shouldn’t have checked the VAR as the incident was not worthy of a review.

He said: “How can this be a VAR intervention? The player in red plays the ball with the hand and then we are checking for a penalty? Why does the referee have to see this?”

Tuchel revealed he had seen it on the iPad and didn’t understand why the referee had to check it again.

The Blues coach however hinted that he was glad the penalty was not awarded.
