Transfer Deal: Chelsea set to offer Premier League side opportunity to sign young defender

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Newcastle United the chance to sign Fikayo Tomori on loan during the transfer window.

Fikayo Tomori was one of Frank Lampard’s most trusted player last season but this season has not been the same for the young England international as the arrival of Thiago Silva and the form of Kurt Zouma have seen him become a fringe player.

Kurt Zouma has formed a great partnership with Thiago Silva and Tomori is still behind Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the pecking order.

Premier League clubs like Newcastle United,  West Ham United, Leeds United and French team Rennes have been linked with a move for Fikayo Tomori in the January transfer window in recent weeks but it seems Steve Bruce team will have the edge.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Newcastle are confident of landing the 23-year-old on loan in the coming days as they believe he will be helpful in making sure they retain their Premier League status.

The Daily Mail also reported that Steve Bruce has personally asked for Tomori’s service as he believes his experience will be useful in helping his team that have not been able to keep a clean sheet in the past few weeks.

Tomori’s last appearance for Chelsea came against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup and he will be eager to move away for greener pastures.
