Transfer Deal: Chelsea reportedly enter race for signature of Bundesliga young defender

Chelsea have reportedly join the list of top teams in Europe setting their sight on centre-back Upamecano as they hope to sign the Frenchman this summer.

Upamecano’s performance for RB Leipzig for the past few matches has not gone unnoticed as he has become one of the most sought after in the transfer market.

The young defender has been able to form a huge reputation for himself on the pitch and Chelsea are considering him as part of their long-term plans due to the age of Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger.

Thiago Silva is currently controlling things with Kurt Zouma at the back while Rudiger has been in and out of the team.

Chelsea are eager to battle the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona in securing a deal for the 22 year-old who recently signed a new Leipzig deal last year which contains a release clause of around £40m.

According to multiple reports, Lampard is ready to trigger his release clause as Chelsea are already planning for life after Thiago Silva who was signed on a free deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues are preparing for a life after Silva and would be working on building a strong defence before the end of the season.
