As the summer transfer window is set to commence, Liverpool striker, Georgino Wijnaldum has been linked with moves to Spanish club, Barcelona.

The reports revealed that Wijnaldum is close to signing a three year deal with the Catalans.

The Netherlands midfielder’s agent, Humphry Nijman, was pictured by Spanish TV station, El Chiringuito TV, leaving the Nou Camp offices on Tuesday morning.

Wijnaldum will bid goodbye to Liverpool at the end of his contract this summer as no agreement was reached between both sides to extend his stay.

Also, popular transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his Twitter handle revealed  that Wijnaldum will be moving to Barcelona, saying German champions Bayern Munich are not in the race for the player.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Gini Wijnaldum is set to join Barcelona as a free agent until June 2024 – there’s nothing agreed with FC Bayern, he wants to sign for Barca. Last details and… here we go soon!”

Wijnaldum played his last game for Liverpool on Sunday in the EPL when they battled it out with Crystal Palace in the race to make it to the top four.
