They are bigger – Lampard speaks on 2-2 draw vs Nottingham Forest
Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard in a post-match statement described Nottingham Forest as a bigger team than them following their 2-2 draw on Saturday.
The duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Raheem Sterling both scored twice for their respective clubs as the Blues dropped points at Stamford Bridge.
For Lampard, the match was his first draw, following six defeats and one win.
The former England star has explained why Chelsea couldn’t make it two consecutive victories.
“We did struggle at set-pieces. The long loopy throw is a difficult one to defend against. We’ve seen them score goals from that in recent games when it’s been important for them.
“They’re a bigger team than us, then it was always going to be a threat. But we have to deal with it,” Lampard said.
Chelsea will now focus on their next match vs EPL champions Manchester City next weekend.
