Tammy Abraham’s Roma Journey Nears End: Injury Woes and Potential Premier League Return

Tammy Abraham is expected to be on the move this summer as Roma looks to sell the striker following an injury-plagued season.

Roma are planning a significant overhaul of their attacking lineup during the summer transfer window. With no plans to retain Romelu Lukaku beyond his current loan from Chelsea, the Serie A club has also decided to offload Tammy Abraham. According to Sky Sport in Italy, Abraham has been deemed too fragile to lead the attack after Lukaku’s departure.

Abraham faced a challenging season in the Italian capital. An anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained last year sidelined him until April. Upon his return, he featured in only the final eight league matches, starting two and scoring just once. This limited action has raised concerns about his reliability as a key attacking player.

Abraham, who joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021, might find his way back to England. Bournemouth is listed as a potential destination for the 26-year-old striker. The Cherries recently appointed ex-Roma director Tiago Pinto, who might opt to reunite with Abraham at Dean Court to bolster their attacking options.

The English striker will closely monitor developments regarding his future. Despite his limited playtime throughout the 2023-24 campaign, Abraham’s goal record of 37 goals in 119 appearances for Roma could attract interest from several clubs. His potential return to the Premier League may offer a fresh start and a chance to regain his form.
