Chelsea defender and Brazil international Thiago Silva has finally reacted to Thomas Tuchel’s sack.

Silva in a heartfelt message to his former boss at PSG and now at Chelsea said he wished he ‘could have done more’ to keep the German in the job.

Recall that Tuchel, who once coached Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund was sacked as the Blues manager on Wednesday morning.

His sack came barely a few hours after Chelsea suffered a 1-0 loss away to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

“Beyond being good professionals, you and your staff were amazing human beings,” wrote the veteran defender on Instagram.

“It was a real privilege to meet you and work with you. Thank you for everything Thomas Tuchel, I’m sorry I could not be more helpful! God bless you and your family.”

Hours after Tuchel’s sack, the Blues appointed former Brighton manager Graham Potter as the German replacement.

While German coaches Zsolt Low and Arno Michels also left with Tuchel, Potter arrived at Chelsea with his assistant coaches from Brighton.
