Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has hinted at a potential reunion with Antonio Conte at Napoli, as he prepares to leave Stamford Bridge.

Following a season-long loan at Roma, where he netted 21 goals in 47 appearances, Lukaku is back in the spotlight with a £38 million release clause this summer.

Chelsea, who signed Lukaku for £97.5 million from Inter in August 2021, are eager for interested clubs to meet this valuation.

Lukaku has emphasized his autonomy in deciding his future, highlighting the importance of his relationship with the team’s manager as a critical factor.

In an interview with RTL, he stated, “I’ve already figured it out in my head. I know what will happen. A lot of people like to talk, maybe because I don’t have a real estate agent. But I’m going to decide. I am in control of my situation.”

Reflecting on his career choices, Lukaku compared his decisions to a personal relationship: “It’s like having a relationship with a woman. If we don’t click anymore, why stay together?”

When asked about the best coach of his career, Lukaku unequivocally named Antonio Conte, suggesting a strong desire to reunite with his former manager.

Lukaku is also open to the prospect of joining the Saudi Pro League, which could offer an alternative to Napoli. “I have often spoken with Yannick [Carrasco] about life there.

He lives in a compound there, but you have everything there,” Lukaku remarked. He further added, “Saudi Arabia wouldn’t stop me. The level will only increase to a much higher level than many people think. More and more football players will tend to play there.”

As Lukaku weighs his options, the football world awaits his final decision, which promises to significantly impact his career trajectory and the clubs involved.
