Reports: Manchester United set to battle Liverpool for the signature of influential Euro 2020 winner

Premier League side, Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly set to go head to head for the signature of Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.

Barella played an important role in Italy’s win at Euro 2020 and new reports from Italy have claimed Manchester United and Liverpool are monitoring his situation at Inter Milan.

Inter Milan are currently going through a tough phase financially as they had to let go of Achraf Hakimi who joined Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United and Liverpool are one of clubs willing to sign Barella this summer.

However, Liverpool and United’s wish might not come true as the report also claimed Inter are currently not too concerned about the former Cagliari star’s future.

With Barella’s current deal set to run out in 2024, Inter Milan are willing to extend that deal, with a payrise, when it is possible.

But nothing is impossible as both Premier League side can still convince Inter Milan into selling their youngster if they table a mouthwatering offer.

Another European contender for the Barella’s signature could be Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
