Chelsea star Christian Pulisic returned to action for the Blues on Sunday in the Premier League, where they play against London rivals West Ham United.

The Blues missed a late penalty through Jorginho after Craig Dawson cynically brought down Romelu Lukaku just inside the box, but with just minutes remaining, the Blues did get that only goal when Pulisic latched onto Marcos Alonso’s inch-perfect cross and finished emphatically.

The goal is Pulisic’s first goal since the Blues’ European Champions League victory at Lille.

The latest win means Chelsea are now seven points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth in the Premier League, with six games left to play in the race for a top-four finish.

Speaking about his goal, Pulisic says it was a deserved one for the Blues in what was a game of few chances at the Bridge.

‘It was a massive goal. We had so much pressure on them for most of the game but we couldn’t get that breakthrough, so I am happy I was able to help out,’ Pulisic said.

‘I always want to be on the pitch, to help my team and I am glad I got the opportunity today. We played a good match and we got our deserved goal in the end.
