Pochettino knocked for letting Felix leave
Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin has expressed his displeasure at Chelsea and their manager Mauricio Pochettino for letting Joao Felix leave.
Recall that Felix moved to Stamford Bridge on a six-month loan deal from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in January this season.
His deal with the Blues also included an option to give him a permanent deal, but the Blues and their manager opted not to retain the Portugal international.
In the summer window, Felix returned to his parent club Atletico and has gone on to join La Liga champions Barcelona on another loan.
So far since he arrived at Camp Nou, The 23-year-old has been impressive for Xavi’s side.
Nevin, who is upset at Chelsea’s decision believes the Hotspurs manager should have kept Felix at Chelsea, adding that the player could have been central to the Blues squad.
“I was upset to see Joao Felix go as I thought he was fabulous. Pochettino probably made the decision to not keep him, but I thought he could’ve been central to the squad,” Nevin told OLBG (as quoted by football London).
“Just look at his form at Barcelona!”
