Pochettino give update on Lavia and Mudryk ahead of game vs Luton Town
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino in a recent statement gave an update on Romero Lavia’s injury ahead of their weekend game vs Luton Town in the Premier League.
Recall that Lavia came in off the bench early in the second half and impressed on his debut for Chelsea against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
However, the Belgian player suffered a late knock and Pochettino confirmed the midfielder’s fitness would need to be evaluated ahead of their trip to Luton Town.
‘Lavia felt something and we need to check and hope it’s not too bad,’ the Blues head coach explained.
‘We are a little bit worried because if you watch the game [against Crystal Palace] I had to change his position with (Conor) Gallagher at the end because he was struggling to run.
‘We will see what is going on. We hope it’s not a big issue and he can be with us again. He’s an important player that we recovered, and it’s going to be a shame if we cannot use him in the next few games.’
Pochettino also confirmed that Mykhailo Mudryk would also need to be assessed after he limped off during the second half of Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
