Manchester City boss has admitted that he ‘won’t rest’ Kevin de Bruyne over the festive period as his goal-shy side look to narrow eight-point gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The Citizens have not started the season in a way they’ve been doing ever since Pep Guardiola joined and there season suffered a setback last time out when bottom side, West Brom played a draw with them.

With Liverpool leading Manchester City with eight point at the top of the summit, Pep Guardiola noted that De Bruyne who has played every minute of the last seven league matches will see more playing time.

Speaking at his press conference, Pep Guardiola noted that Kevin is so important for Manchester City that he won’t rest.

Guardiola added that he (De Bruyne) rested in the Champions League previously and right now the team need him.

The Premier league giants face Southampton on Saturday and are aware they must fix a current struggle for goals, having netted just 18 times in their opening 12 matches.

Kevin De Bruyne have become an important player for Manchester City ever since he came on board as he was instrumental in the club’s success for the past few seasons and hopefully he would perform this weekend again.
