Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Kevin De Bruyne will not be rested against Everton despite their upcoming match against Chelsea.

The busy festive period fixtures have seen top managers in the league complain about the stress their players are going through and Pep Guardiola has never been shy in voicing out his frustrations.

However, the Spaniard is taking no chances when it comes to the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne as the Belgium completed another 90 minutes for City  in their win against Newcastle on Boxing Day.

Guardiola has now stated that De Bruyne will be available for the trip to Everton on Monday as he remains one of their most important players.

Speaking with the press ahead of the meeting against Carlo Ancelotti’s team, Guardiola noted that Manchester City need De Bruyne as he is one of the biggest stars in the world right now.

Guardiola noted that De Bruyne is an outstanding player and he knows how important the Belgian is for the team.

He added that De Bruyne did not travel for their league cup match against Arsenal because he prefers to have him fit for the Premier League, especially now that the Champions League is over, he wants to focus on the Premier League.

De Bruyne has been consistent ever since he joined Manchester City some season ago but has missed some fixtures through fatigue already this season.
