Chelsea midfielder insists players and not coach at fault for Arsenal loss

Homegrown Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has insisted that the players are to be blamed for their loss against London rivals, Arsenal.

Chelsea were favourite to win against an Arsenal side that have not won any Premier League match since November but failed to live up to expectations as they fell to a 3-1 defeat.

Throughout the match, Arsenal’s team were full of energy, intensity, and they were first to every ball as Chelsea could not cope.

With the pressure now on Frank Lampard to deliver, Mason Mount has urged fans not to blame the coach as it’s time for the players to step up.

Speaking with club official website, Mount noted that the players at Chelsea are big players so they can get together and really bounce back after that performance.

Mount who started the game noted that the Arsenal game is gone and there are still some big things the team need to work on so they play their next match against Villa with a strong mindset, starting the game very well and hopefully doing well in the game.

The England International who accepted that he and his teammates did not start the Arsenal game very well added that they are representing Chelsea, a big club and they really need to look at themselves as players and say that was not good enough.
