Napoli linked with moves for this Chelsea defender

Italian Serie A champions Napoli have been linked with moves for Chelsea defender Trevor Chalobah in the ongoing January transfer window.

This is according to Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, which repealed Napoli are mulling over whether to launch a bid for the defender or not.

The report further hinted that the Blues central defender with 63 appearances was on Gli Azzurri’s radar after he fell out of favour under manager Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Stamford Bridge.

There are speculations that Chalobah wants to explore a transfer away from his boyhood club ahead of the February 1 deadline.

The Blues would, however, prefer to sanction a permanent exit for the defender instead of negotiating a loan deal as they look to boost their hopes of staying on the right side of financial regulations.

Recall that Chalobah was linked with moves to German giant Bayern Munich last summer but the transfer failed to materialise.
