Manchester United still confident of signing Borussia Dortmund striker
Manchester United are apparently still confident of signing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland when his asking price drops to £68m in 2022.
The Premier league giants were intensely connected with a move for Erling Haaland during the January transfer window recently, having seen the prolific frontman net multiple times in only 22 games for Red Bull Salzburg.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had recently managed the young striker at Molde as well, making the Red Devils one of the top choices to sign him for just £18.2m.
Notwithstanding, Erling Haaland rather joined Borussia Dortmund, where he has since proceeded with his free-scoring form with 23 goals in his 26 games over all competitions up until this point.
The Athletic reports that Manchester United actually hold an enthusiasm for the Norway striker, but are willing to wait until 2022 when a £68m asking price drops.
The consideration of that asking price is perceived to have been one of the principle reasons why a move to Old Trafford fell, with Manchester United reluctant to consent to those terms though Borussia Dortmund were set to do as such.
The Red Devils have the choice of extending Edinson Cavani’s stay for a further a year to take them through to 2022, when they want to make a move for Erling Haaland.
Chelsea still want to sign Premier league defensive midfielder
Manchester United have also been credited with a continuous enthusiasm for Erling Haaland’s Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho and are arranging a £176m double deal for the pair in the coming windows.
