Former England manager, Glenn Hoddle, has shared his opinion about Chelsea while identifying Thomas Tuchel as the manager the Blues shouldn’t have sacked in the past.

Hoddle opined that with Tuchel incharge at Stamford Bridge, the Blues would be in a better position now.

Recall that Tuchel, who is set to become England’s manager next year, was sacked by Chelsea in September 2022 amid a run of poor form.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, who bought the club from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich then replaced the Germany international with Graham Potter.

Potter’s reign was cut short as the Blues signed former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, who they parted ways with last season

While the Blues are now managed by Enzo Maresca, Hoddle in a statement on the Overlap, via Sky Bet recalled how he spent a bit of time with Tuchel and had a few interviews with him and spoke to him after.

“Look at what he did at Chelsea and what happened to them after he left… He won the Champions League there,” Hoddle added.

Meanwhile, unlike last season under Pochettino, the Blues have been impressive under Maresca this season as they sit in the top six on the league table.
