Manchester United are said to be working on a new deal for Bruno Fernandes as they hope to wade off interest from Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

According to the Mirror UK, the proposed offer will see Man Utd double Fernandes’ wages.

The 26-year-old has been impressive for the Red Devils since joining from Sporting in January as he now has 22 goals and 14 assists in just 37 appearances, thus making him a target for the Los Blancos and the Catalans.

According to the report, the new deal is worth around £200,000 a week and should be enough to keep the Portugal international at Old Trafford.

While Fernandes is just 11 months from the four-and-a-half-year deal he signed, the Mirror UK reports that United want to keep the Portuguese international happy at Old Trafford so that he can continue to perform.

The Portuguese player currently earns £100,000 while the likes of David De Gea earns £350,000-a-week and Paul Pogba,£300,000-a-week.

His salary is however the same as that of of Jesse Lingard and No 2 keeper Dean Henderson.

The Red Devils will not allow any club sign him away from Old Trafford as he seems to be hungry for trophy which is an ability that could help Ole rebuild his team.

His influence in the dressing room is also very important and it would be a blow on Man Utd to lose such brilliant played.
