Current Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag, who is likely to become the next permanent manager at Old Trafford next season, has been advised to sack Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Harry Maguire when he arrives at the club.

This is according to Rene van der Gijp, a former Netherlands international.

Ten Hag has already been interviewed by Man Utd’s decision maker, and the report says it ended on a ‘positive’ note, with the 52-year-old detailing his philosophy and vision for the club.

Other managers who have also been considered are Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla manager, Julen Lopetegui and Spain coach, Luis Enrique.

Ten Hag, who is the favourite, has been told he will face some considerable challenges from Ronaldo, Pogba and Maguire should he get the job.

“He just needs to get rid of those troublemakers. Ronaldo, Pogba, Maguire,” Gijp said on Vendaag Inside.

Aside from Man Utd, a report via the Daily Mail UK revealed that two clubs who competed in the Champions League this season have also shown interest in ten Hag.
